This past Thursday marked a significant moment for the students and staff at Cumorah Academy—the graduation ceremony that wrapped up an unforgettable 12-week journey. It was a moment filled with laughter, tears, reflection, and immense gratitude.
The evening was beautifully hosted by Professor Iaian Sandlers, the Academy’s esteemed Public Speaking instructor. From the first words spoken, it was clear that this was more than just a formality—it was a heartfelt farewell to a season of transformation, growth, and connection.
Voices of Growth: Student Speeches That Inspired Us All
The ceremony opened with inspiring speeches from Andre Reis and Alison Hannah, two exceptional students who were awarded the prestigious Advanced with Honors distinction. Their words captured not only their personal journeys but also the collective experience of the entire student body. They spoke of challenges overcome, lessons learned, and the deep sense of purpose discovered during their time at Cumorah.
A Million Dreams and One Magical Performance
Then came a truly magical moment—the Cumorah Choir’s performance of “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman. Their voices filled the hall with emotion, creating an atmosphere that made everyone pause and reflect. It was in that moment that many realized: this was the end of something special.

One of the most touching parts of the evening was the tribute to the staff—the silent heroes who made the Cumorah experience possible. From the dedicated kitchen team to the gardeners who kept the campus beautiful, from the receptionists to the mentors and teachers—each was honored with applause and heartfelt thanks. Their contribution wasn’t just about doing a job; it was about building a community.
Diplomas, Nicknames, and Moments That Mattered
Next came the moment everyone had been waiting for—the diploma ceremony. One by one, the seven interns of the semester were called forward, receiving their diplomas in recognition of their dedication and efforts. In a light-hearted and personal touch, each also received a diploma with their personal nickname—a fun token that symbolized the friendships and inside jokes that blossomed over the semester.
House by House, Step by Step: Celebrating Every Student’s Achievement
Each house—Esther, Moroni, Ruth, Nephi, and Isaac—then took turns stepping on stage to receive their course completion diplomas and Leadership Course certifications. These certifications are not just pieces of paper—they are symbols of growth, accountability, and the willingness to serve others.
The Cumorah Pledge: A Promise to Carry Forward
To close the ceremony, Donn Mason led the students in reciting the Cumorah Pledge, a moment filled with pride and hope. With certificates held high, voices rang out together in unity. It was powerful. Emotional. Unforgettable.
