Growth Starts at Cumorah Academy
One of our favorite parts of the Cumorah Academy experience is welcoming students as they arrive. Despite their cultural differences, the excitement they share when stepping onto campus is palpable.
Stepping through the doorway of Cumorah Academy symbolizes entering a new phase of life. Nearly all students have made enormous sacrifices to come to campus. Some had to sell personal belongings to save money for the trip, while others left their jobs to commit to a full semester.
As we see these students arriving, we may wonder:
“What motivates them to come to Cumorah Academy?”
At first glance, the answer may seem unclear. Without observing what Cumorah truly offers, it might appear they are here solely for educational purposes. Some students have come to improve their English proficiency, while others are eager to develop ideas and strategies for their business aspirations.
Here are some of the student’s expectations for the semester:
- “I am excited about the opportunities we have here to grow, learn, and change our lives with new perspectives.” – Tayna, Brazil
- “I am excited to grow alongside people who share similar beliefs and values as me and to be surrounded by others who love Jesus Christ.” – Ellie, U.S.A.
- “I am excited to accomplish one of my childhood dreams of going to Europe and studying something that will positively impact my life.” – Lilian, Ecuador
These are certainly inspiring goals. While education can profoundly bless our lives, many young adults today are on deeper, more personal quests.
The Quest for Growth at Cumorah Academy
Many students yearn for emotional and spiritual comfort. They seek shelter from the whirlwind of challenges in the world. This need for a more profound connection is why Cumorah Academy’s curriculum is uniquely focused on a spiritual scope. This focus sets us apart from other institutions.
But it’s not just the students who are excited for this semester! Our staff members and teachers are equally enthusiastic about the new term.
Iain Saunders, our Academic Director, shared:
“I’m expecting to get to know some fabulous students, work with them, and watch their lives change, which we love to see every semester.”
Our English teachers, Kristina Hoferer and Ellie Vasas, are thrilled about the opportunity to teach and meet new students.
- “I am very excited to teach English, meet my students, and help them build the confidence they need to speak fluently,” says Kristina.
- “I am excited to grow my teaching skills and help others develop their English proficiency while gaining confidence in speaking another language,” concludes Ellie.
The campus atmosphere is warm and inviting, filled with joy and hope for the future.
Hope for the Future at Cumorah Academy
